PLAYING ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH

GOD AMONG US

Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east,
in Eden;
and there he put the man he had formed.

"It is not good for the man to be alone ..."

The LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep;
and while the man was sleeping,
the LORD God began to make a suitable helper for him;
he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh.
Then the LORD God made a woman
from the rib he had taken out of the man,
and He brought her to the man.

The man said,
"This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called 'woman,'
for she was taken out of the side of man."

The man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God
as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day ...
For God so loved the world
that
He sent His Son to play with us.

Then I was by Him,
as one brought up with him:
and I was daily His delight,
even at play in His presence,
playing on the face of the earth He had finished,
delighting to be with children of humanity.
